Mission
Within the law school, APALSA hosts many social events to promote community and support for AAPI law students. Its largest event is the annual Career Development Forum in collaboration with the Asian American Bar Association (AABA) and the Office of the Illinois Attorney General (OIAG). There are panels with experienced attorneys and judges and with recent graduates providing advice about law school and how to build a successful career. There is also a resume review hour and a networking lunch. APALSA’s other big event is the APALSA Alumni Award. Since 2003, APALSA has recognized and honored a member of the law school's alumni for their service to the profession and to the school.

The Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA) at Loyola University Chicago School of Law was founded in 1988 as an organization for all students interested in the role of AAPI attorneys and judges in the legal community. APALSA members have been and are comprised of students from South, Southeast, and East Asia. Some of the countries that our members come from include, but are not limited to, India, China, Pakistan, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, etc. Participation in APALSA is not restricted to individuals of Asian ethnic descent.

The purpose of the Loyola Chapter of the Black Law Students Association is to articulate and promote the professional goals and needs of Black law students; to encourage and foster academic and professional excellence; to instill in the Black attorney and law student a greater awareness of and commitment to the needs of the Black community, including fellow students and/or colleagues; and to promote open and honest communication, professionalism and responsibility among Black law students and others in the legal community.

BLSA members have access to and are invited to participate in community building events, social events, service events, and networking events. BLSA members are also invited to join the Big/Little program where an upperclassmen mentor is paired with a 1L mentee, offering community, support, and guidance relating to law school and the job application process. Further, members benefit from the organizations extensive professional relationships with local bar associations serving the Black community including The Black Women’s Lawyer Association of Greater Chicago (BWLA), The Cook County Bar Association (CCBA), and the Black Men Lawyers Association (BMLA). The Children's Legal Rights Journal (CLRJ) is a national journal sponsored by Loyola University Chicago School of Law in cooperation with the National Association of Counsel for Children. CLRJ focuses on the broad range of legal issues confronting children, including child welfare, juvenile justice, adoption, mental health, education, and more. Its goal is to provide practitioners in law and related fields with the practical resources they need to be effective advocates for their child clients. CLRJ encourages interdisciplinary submissions as well as more traditional law-related articles.

The Christian Legal Society (“CLS”) is an Illinois non-profit corporation with its principal offices in Springfield, Virginia, that exists to inspire, encourage, and equip lawyers and law students, both individually and in community, to proclaim, love and serve Jesus Christ through the study and practice of law, the defense of religious freedom, and the provision of legal assistance to the poor.

The purpose of DLSC at LUC Law is to foster a community for disabled law students and allies, to increase accessible legal education, and to develop a network of disabled law school graduates. The DLSC aspires to champion a social model of disability through education, accountability, and advocacy among students, faculty, and administration. The DLSC intentionally used disability-first language as a political statement reclaiming disabled identity from harmful medical- and functional models of disability.

Mission
The Environmental Law Society (ELS) is committed to fostering student interest in environmental law. ELS develops events and programs promoting awareness and education about environmental affairs from ethical, legal, scientific, economic, policy, and sociological perspectives.

Additionally, ELS advocates for the inclusion of environmental law-related courses in the School of Law’s curriculum. Former ELS President, Isabella Masini, successfully encouraged the law school to launch an environmental law program and hire two renowned environmental law professors, Kalyani Robbins and Carmen G. Gonzalez. Loyola now boasts year-round classes on topics including International Environmental Law, Land Use, and Natural Resource Management.

Mission
The Loyola University Chicago International Law Review is a semi-annual journal that focuses on topical issues in both international and comparative law. The journal is directed to students, academics and practitioners in the legal community, and contributes to the general body of knowledge through articles on important legal and social developments. Loyola law students edit, manage, and publish the journal, including the yearly symposium issue in which established scholars and practitioners contribute articles focusing on a contemporary issue in international law, such as European Union enlargement, the Free Trade Area of the Americas or data privacy and cyber regulation.

The Review also sponsors an annual symposium on a subject of interest in international and comparative law.

Associate Editors receive 1 ungraded credit per semester; Senior Editors receive 2 ungraded credits per semester; Board Members receive 3 ungraded credits per semester. If student article is selected, will be published in one of the biannual review publications, which are shipped nationally.

Loyola's Jewish law students are part of the Decalogue Society, an association of Jewish attorneys with an active Chicago chapter. To activate our abolitionist beliefs by participating in advocacy efforts and organizing campaigns for current issues impacting the criminal defense profession and the greater criminal legal system. Prioritizing indigent criminal defense where possible but recognizing that it is a privilege to engage in low-paying or non-paying work and members of diverse socioeconomic statuses have varying capacities to take on this work.

The National Lawyers Guild (NLG) is the nation’s oldest and largest progressive bar association. Its mission is to use law for the people, uniting lawyers, law students, legal workers, and jailhouse lawyers to function as an effective force in the service of the people by valuing human rights and the rights of ecosystems over property interests.

The NLG is dedicated to the need for basic change in the structure of our political and economic system. The NLG aims to bring together all those who recognize the importance of safeguarding and extending the rights of workers, women, LGBTQ people, farmers, people with disabilities and people of color; who seek actively to eliminate racism; who work to maintain and protect our civil rights and liberties in the face of persistent attacks upon them; and who look upon the law as an instrument for the protection of the people, rather than for their repression.
