We are a recognized chapter of the Food Recovery Network, a national non-profit organization whose mission is “Fighting Waste. Feeding People.” We aim to recover and re-utilize uneaten food from campus sources by making it safely available to members of our local community who do not have access to a steady supply of food. Our hope is to provide high-quality food to those in need while simultaneously educating students, faculty, and administration on the importance of reducing food waste. Seeking out excited, passionate students with a commitment to sustainability, service, and bettering our community is central to our mission.

Members will be given various opportunities for volunteering experience and involvement in food justice. We have weekly signups for food recoveries, during which members can help bring unused food from LUC's dining halls to local food pantries. We also have biweekly volunteering opportunities at A Just Harvest, a local food pantry in Roger's Park. We also host a variety of fun events throughout the semester that members can look out for.
